This post is a response to the LYL Start-a-Blog prompt “What’s your elevator pitch?”
My fourth entry to the Blogging Challenge is devoted to this prompt: “What’s one thing you’re proud of?”
Honestly, most of all I am proud of the Life I am currently building for myself… but I would leave it for a later writing… like half a year or even later than that.
Instead I will tell you about my efforts with Live Your Legend LOCAL. Maybe the current results after a year are still quite far from an actual success story and could even look more like a failure from the outside… But I am very proud of myself for stepping up to do it, glad to have the experiences and the learning that I accumulated over my first year at it…
What people thank me for… Ironically, at first this one has been even more hurting and painful than anger… I thought of writing a whole passage devoted on the topic of “how I have been feeling invisible”. But that’s not the point of the prompt, and my mood has changed over the last 24 hours, finally leaving that bitterness and anger behind and switching back to excitement and happiness.
However, I still had to think hard for some time to find what to write here.
Today’s writing prompt: “What really makes you angry about the world?”
Dale Carnegie used to say that anyone could become a great public speaker if they were angry enough. And when it comes to helping people and living your legend, starting with your biggest frustrations can open up a lot of ideas as to the difference you want to make. Think of what consistently makes you mad about the world and what you wish was different.
It is about that time of the year (again) when Scott Dinsmore of Live Your Legend is running the Start-a-Blog Challenge and I attempt to hop on this train to give a boost to my blogging life. Because I know that the prompts, the accountability and the community support might be just what I need to get through to the regular writing habit. Plus, this time around I actually want a WDS ticket as well ;)
This habit is closely related to the concept that everything is created twice: first in our thoughts, and then in the outside world. In many cases, the first creation is implicit or done by default. It can be a product of thoughts, beliefs and world views of other people. The habit of beginning with the end in mind brings to our attention the right and responsibility to shape the first creation ourselves.
Once again I would like to follow an inspiration and an example of Chris Guillebeau and participate in the fun that is annual review. I have told many of my friends that I tend to overlook and underestimate my achievements on any given scale, having ideas and ideals which are always out of my reach, and I find enumerating all of the accomplishments very satisfying, often discovering some surprises in the process.
