This week I’m going to write about the benefits I see in the Principles understanding.
In this first installment, I think it makes sense to talk about Freedom.
Freedom means a lot of different things to different people. This is actually one of the deeper insights into the Principles by itself: there is no one unique true definition of any concept, because each and every concept is made up in our mind – and it can be made up each day in a different way.
For me, the freedom of this understanding comes in the form of knowing that there is no one right way to do anything. There is no one right theory to describe anything. There is no one truth that can be made in a dogma.
Because that what is actually true and right is formless. When we speak about any idea, concept or strategy, we do it with words. And words are forms. Words are imperfect. “The Tao that can be spoken of is not the real Tao.”
There are also insights into the understanding around of what we think as good or bad. The freedom we get from stopping to look at things to label them as “good” or “bad” liberates a lot of attention and energy to simply look at things. To observe things, to take them in, to enjoy them.
There is so much judgement in the world… When we see that we can actually leave it aside and behind, it opens a possibility to be present, kind and loving in a completely different way.
This is the way how I want to live my life and the possibility I want to share with others.
