Hello my friends! Just want to say you that I am alive and all is well :)
It gets even better from here.
Some of you know that I spent the month of March in 2015 in Marseille in the South of France. I had fallen in love with the city and the region and the country. I did not want to leave. Unfortunately, there was no appropriate immediate possibility to stay… In the last night before leaving, I made a promise to come back.
It took me whole eighteen months until I was able to come for a weekend visit. However, after two more months, Life decided to give me a gift of coming back for good.
The almost-two-year-long path of challenges and setbacks was far from an easy one, neither a straight one. However, with a series of unpredictable events, as well as support from my girlfriend and my family, I managed to make it through. And I made it here. In December 2016 I came to the city where my heart have been wanting to be all this time.
Not everything which I hoped for and dreamed of while staying in Marseille in March 2015 came true — at least, not yet.
For example, I have not shifted the field of work. My main income is coming from a job in the software development. But leveraging the education (and the degree) I have in the field, I was able to find this job, get a work permit, come and settle in France… In fact, more accurately would be to say: I could allow myself to be found by the job, be given a work permit and be invited to come to the city of my desires. Additionally, the job is much closer aligned to my values and interests in the field than a PhD position could ever be. I am OK with doing it for a while, just hoping that this “while” would not eventually become “way too long”.
Additionally, the company which employs me has been built with some good principles in mind. One of which motivated them to provide a framework for practicing and developing employees’ passions inside the company. Of course, not in a free-for-all mode. The company expects the activities to directly or indirectly benefit the company. The activities are required to have clear value statement and a set of defined objectives. In any case, this framework makes a good opportunity for me to take the next step in sharing the Principles of Life and help more people to leave lighter and happier lives.
Right now, I have some time to reflect and shape my proposition. There are quite a lot of questions to explore, to give a few examples:
- How do we share our gifts?
- How do we make the world a better place if it does not need fixing?
- Why do people listen? Why do people pay attention? Why do people care?
I hope to be able to address some these questions on the pages of LikzLife… Most of all, I simply hope to come back. To return into creating, writing, sharing what I know and what I see and what wants to come through me.
Until next time — and hopefully very soon,
Enjoy YOUR Life!
